"To list or not to list?"
So if you're anything like me, you probably have books spilling off shelves and forming piles across your bedroom floor so that your room looks like a breeding

ground of great stories! Now while this creates many problems (eg. dodging the books when you get up in the middle of the night!), for me the main one is always wondering which book to read next. I always find myself standing there and staring at the shelves wanting to read them all at once but not knowing which one to read first, hence the list!!
Now I know that not everyone likes having a list; I like it for the structure it gives me so I know I won't accidentally miss out a book on my shelf or spend ages deciding what my next read shall be, but I think others prefer the spontaneity of choosing a new book without a list. I suppose the bad thing I find about having a list is that I sometimes feel I'm racing through books so that I can try and read the next book on the list; it's almost like a competition with myself to see how many books I can read

over a certain amount of time, but nevertheless, it hasn't stopped me from loving reading!! When I was younger, I always used to think that having a list would ruin the excitement of scanning the shelves, looking at covers and reading blurbs before choosing the perfect book, and while this is true to an extent, having a list creates its own excitement of seeing which book you have already planned to read next and then scavenging through all the other books to find it. I also enjoy looking at my list and seeing all the books I've read over the past year or so (because my list is literally scribbled on a couple of pages of lined paper) and remembering all the amazing stories within them! Having a list is definitely very useful as I've got older and become busier because at least I know that I don't need to worry about finding my next read once I've finished my current one!
Anyway, I thought I would share my list with you; perhaps it may have some reads that you may like!
No et Moi - Delphine de Vigan (this is in French but you can probably find it in English)
Seed - Lisa Heathfield
Pepita Jimenez - Juan Valera (this is in Spanish but, again, you could probably find it in English)
The Tenant of Wildfell Hall - Anne Brontë
Como agua para chocolate - Laura Esquivel (Spanish again...)
Americanah - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
The Glass Blowers - Daphne du Maurier
Titanic Survivor - Violet Jessop
Purple Hibiscus - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
The Remains of the Day - Kazuo Ishiguro
Five Feet Apart - Rachel Lippincott
When all is said - Anne Griffin
What do you think? Are you a list person or not? And do you have any other good books that you think everyone should read?
