WELCOME
If you are here then you are most likely a fellow book-lover and I am so excited to share my passion for literature with you! This blog will take you through the world of fiction; from nineteenth-century English novels to contemporary reads in English, French, and Spanish, this blog will truly explore the beauty of the written word across different time periods and countries.

C.S. Lewis once said: "Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in that respect, it irrigates the desert that our lives have already become". I adore this quote as I think it captures the true essence of literature and its importance in our lives. Books provide us with an outlet into which we can fully immerse ourselves while adding depth and knowledge to our characters which can become so caught up in the rush of everyday life. It is then with this new knowledge we gain from reading that we can start to explore new ideas and beliefs which we may not have known before; it is then that we can start to truly understand each other, and it is then that we can open our narrow minds to a whole world of creativity and innovation, because, without literature, I sincerely believe that we would all be missing an important part of the wisdom and understanding provided through the simple reading of a book.

The written word truly is a magical thing as it has the ability to transport us into whole new worlds, countries, and time periods giving us a flavour of what different lives look like through the window of a writer's creative imagination. It also has the ability to empower us, to move us, and to make us reflect on anything and everything, which is a truly remarkable power.

In this blog, I will share with you reviews on books that I have read in English, French, and Spanish; I will write recommendations for books to read; I will share my ideas on reading and on writing and a whole host of other things as well!!

Please take a look around and hopefully, something will pique your interest, or give you a new idea for your next book and feel free to leave comments with your own thoughts and ideas about the world of literature.
